METROPOLIS
This lamp combines the classic shape of Art Deco wall lamps with a modern LED that illuminates the glass of the lamp in an even manner. Not only do the light bulbs inside remain invisible, but also the optical effect of the lampshade makes it difficult to see where the light source actually is.
The famous movie “Metropolis” was made in 1927, at a time when the Art Deco style was at the peak of its popularity. The set design is strongly influenced by it, although the film presents a vision of the future from the year 2000. But t is not only the combination of Art Deco style with modernity that brings the cult film to mind. An important function is played there by a futuristic object very similar to the Metropolis wall lamp.
